DANGEROUS IMPROV
6-HOUR IMPROV INTENSIVE

Your improv is safe. It’s like a little puppy: You pet it, give it some water, let it lick your face, then fall asleep with it on the sofa. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy. And as we, the audience, watch you do this, we smile and go “Awwww”…. then we want to curl up and go to sleep, too.

But your improv is not a puppy. It’s a mangy, fanged beast that wears a muzzle, hasn’t been fed in weeks, and lives in a cage. And it is just dying to get out.

Well, why don’t you let it?

Andy Crouch and Troy A. Miller of Danger! Warning! Improv! will show you how to let your starving, half-crazed improv loose in the theatre. By refusing to play it safe, you will keep yourself and the audience fully engaged and energized every second of your show — and you will have the most fun you’ve ever had being on stage.

During this 6-hour intensive you will be exposed to techniques and philosophies designed to keep your improv dangerous yet immensely playful. From playing multiple characters (and character switching) to scene painting to adopting cinematic techniques and creating vivid action sequences, you’ll learn not only how to make your improv dance wildly on the edge of oblivion, but how to literally bring audience members into the swirling typhoon of fun you’ve created for you and your partners.

This workshop is for anyone who has completed intermediate or higher improv instruction looking to up their improv game or simply have a heckuva good time, and is certainly useful for whole troupes who wish to step it up and build tighter, more exciting ensemble.
